Music lovers have access to a rich variety of musical entertainment, from classical to rock and jazz, taking place in the Geneva aera throughout the year.

English-speaking residents and visitors can choose from all kinds of musical events for their listening pleasure:

Events organised by the City of Geneva:

Week-end en fanfare - - May
Brass band extravaganza pumping out golden oldies and jazz, interspersed with classical pieces.

Fête de la musique - - June
Festival providing venues where various music groups can set up and perform.

Musiques en été Festival - - July and August
Summer music festival providing a vast programme of classical, jazz, and contemporary music in the City Hall Courtyard in the Old Town and the Ella Fitzgerald Stage in La Grange Park.

Concerts du dimanche -
Sunday concerts in the beautiful Victoria Hall are a Geneva tradition. From September to June, different types of classical music: organ, choral workk, symphony orchestra, and soloists recitals.

AMR Jazz Festival

A festival of improvised music, mostly coming from Afro-American musical in traditions in Geneva and its region.

Mapping Festival - – May
International festival centred on VJing, real-time video mixing, and related audio-visual skills. The place to be for concept sharing and finding out about new techniques.

Mai au Parc - - May
Fun weekend in the leafy grounds of the Villa Bernasconi park. Attractive, admission-free programme of music and activities for the whole family.

Vernier sur Rock Festival, VSR

Multi-sound music festival with environment-friendly work experience programme for young people.

Celtic and Rock festival - May
Festival of Celtic music and Rock to usher in the reawakening of Spring.

AMR at the Cropettes - - June
Music programme in the Cropettes Park with local groups bringing us the sounds of the Association for the Promotion of Improvised Music (AMR)—jazz, and improvised music mostly in the Afro-American tradition.

Gena Festival in the Open Air

Music festival in the Geneva countryside. Varied admission-free programme.

Summer concerts for lovers of chamber music in the beautiful church of Saint-Germain.

Les Concerts de la Cathé - July to September
Bell ringing and organ music at Saint-Pierre Cathedral. - August
Admission-free, out-door festival concentrating on rock music and related genres.

Jazz sur la - August
Admission-free jazz sessions at Hermance by the lake.

Grouna Festival - August
Music from groovy Geneva groups playing at Pregny-Chambésy. Admission free.

La Bâtie Festival - - September
Every year in September, this interdisciplinary festival delivers a fascinating assortment of laid-back, avant-garde music and dance.
