Practical Informations of the Tranchées' Cultural Trail

Before setting off to explore the Cultural Trail through the Tranchées district, the following practical information will provide all the useful information you may need for your walk.

The Trail

The trail lasts 45 minutes, not including museum visits.
Departure: Museum of Art and History; arrival: rue Rodolphe-Toepffer. An itinerary is suggested, but the trail can be joined at any stage.

Public Transport

  • Tram 12, stops Villereuse and Rive
  • Bus 7, stop Musée d’art et d‘histoire
  • Bus 1 et 8 arrêts Florissant et Tranchées
  • Bus 5 et 25 arrêts Tranchées et Muséum 
  • Bus 36 Église Russe et Saint-Antoine

Bicycle Parking

  • Rue Charles-Galland, in front of the Museum of Art and History
  • Parc Malagnou, in front of the Natural History Museum

Cycling is not permitted in the parks. Cyclists are requested to leave their bicycles outside or to dismount.

Public Holidays

25th December, 1st January, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, 1st August, Jeûne genevois (1st Thursday in September).

Free Admission

Admission to most of the museums is free on the 1st Sunday of the month.
Free admission anytime for the Natural History Museum.
