Practical Information about the Tranchées Cultural Trail

Before setting off to explore the Cultural Trail through the Tranchées district, here are some practical details that you might find useful as you take your walk.

The Trail

Walking the trail should take 45 minutes, not including museum visits.
Departure: Museum of Art and History; arrival: rue Rodolphe-Toepffer. We suggest an itinerary, but you can join the trail at any stage.

 

Public Transport

  • Tram 12, stops Villereuse and Rive
  • Bus 7, stop Musée d’art et d‘histoire
  • Bus 1, 8 stops Florissant and Tranchées
  • Bus 5,25 stops Tranchées and Muséum 
  • Bus 36 stops Église Russe and Saint-Antoine

Bicycle Parking

  • Rue Charles-Galland, in front of the Museum of Art and History
  • Parc Malagnou, in front of the Natural History Museum

Cycling is not permitted in parks. Cyclists are requested to leave their bicycles outside or to dismount.

  • Parking Saint-Antoine;
  • Parking Villereuse;

Public Holidays

25 December, 1 January, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, 1 August, Jeûne genevois (1st Thursday in September).

Free Admission

Admission to most of the museums is free on the 1st Sunday of the month.
Free admission at all times for the Natural History Museum.
